The combat visibility is clear thanks to the high contrast between the color sprites and black background, special enemy attacks have an indicator before they happen.Geometry Dash is one of the most addicting Android games that you’ll love playing. But inside the limited constraints of game like this, it’s very good: The movement is simple but well tuned, not too slow, nor too fast and uncontrollable, and always snappy, with a nice dash. There is no exploration aspects nor advanced rpg character build aspects (it’s a more basic str/dex/int + 1 perk per level system, Brotato wins in that regard). There is no advanced parry system nor animation driven combo attacks, nor anything like that, you hold mouse1 to attack. It’s actually a very simple action game: you move and shoot in an arena.Įven the melee weapons are like short ranged weapons and the enemies do the same, move and shoot. Maybe a endless mode perhaps? This game is frickin amazing! A cool as hell rogue like that blends so many high points of other indie giants, it has level progression akin to dead cells, gameplay like Isaac and Gungeon, an interesting pick-your-own reward mechanic like Hades, and thanks to the devs love and care, still has its own beautiful and unique identity! The enemies and room designs are clear, fair. Really looking forward to future updates and hopefully workshop integration, I know it’s really early but I’m imagining the crazy things people could come up with similar to Binding of Isaac. Electrician SimulatorĪll kinds of items and weapons to mess around with, permanent unlocks to boost your runs the further you upgrade and many builds to try. The movement and combat are fun, the challenge ramps up the further you get. Absolute blast to play! I have a fond love for rogue-likes, it’s one of the few genres that I sink considerable amounts of time into. The music is exactly the same, it’s retro sounding and fits the game perfectly. The attack animations also look very bouncy and active which makes collecting new weapons super fun. The CRT effects are also great if you can manage. all of the colours and pixel work all fits perfectly nicely together. The game does also provides tons of out of game progression which makes the game so much more rewarding The art here is awesome, it’s really passionate and full of great details and style. You move your little person out of the way of the bullets, you use a wide variety of weapons and spells to kill the monstersĪnd a run takes you less than an hour. I would however like to see the developer try adding in some odd shaped ones for an extra level of complexity. The combat rooms are all pretty square and boring in shape but the enemy design really saves this with some very unique and challenging combat scenarios and some solid boss designs. I really do hope this comes in a later update because it really would add a ton more fun to the overall character building. There’s no legend, rule book or description for any of the stats. The game also has a whole stat menu where plenty of stats are shown which is great, however this is pretty much my one and only complaint, I have no idea what many of these stats do or mean. ![]() Shovel Knight DigĪs well as hold onto items for later use. The game has an almost dungeon crawler/Diablo style inventory which allows you to collect and try different combat tactics along the way. The pickups and upgrades are varied and feel super rewarding when collected, each upgrade instantly changes how you approach combat. The characters are there, they are not special in any major way but they do offer a fun unique starting kit to build upon. The weapons in the game all feel super unique, each of them all do something very distinctively different which makes the experience so much more varied. ![]() I do find I personally prefer this as it just adds more action to the game and really makes you think and keep active at all times. This game, unlike some of the others in the genre, requires you to control your attacks and evade incoming attacks. The general gameplay is going from room to room picking up items and levelling your character. ![]() Everything in this game so far is absolutely amazing. Tiny rogues might be one of the better “Vampire Survivors/reverse bullet hell games” style games yet, i use this phrase for nearly all of these games but truly this game really has its personality, game theory and style. I can’t wait to see how RubyDev continues to expand on the game. Its also filled with fun reference that made me smile every time I found one. Unlock 10 different character classes with unique passive skills! Become permanently stronger by collecting souls to spend at the bonfire to unlock starting gift items and passive blessings which apply to each run! I love the simplistic rogue like dungeon crawler, crossed with the stat management of a RPG.
